Eulogy Examples Grandmother

I play Sorry with my grandmother and sister, drawing a seven and knocking both of my grandmother’s pieces off the board. “You’re just sadistic,” she joked in a mocking tone as I removed her pieces from the board. I’m certain not every individual would play the board game with their grandkids, no matter how insignificant that day was. Sue Straw was born on August 11, 1958. She had eight siblings; one of them was my mother, who she gave birth to on March 19, 1978.

My grandmother was a strong, independent woman, and she would strive to provide for her family no matter what the circumstance was.

Sue Straw passed away on May 3, 2020 at the age of 61 after battling with cancer for years. Even though my grandmother is gone, her presence is still felt by everyone who knew her.

My grandmother always had a positive outlook on life, and she was always so strong. Even when she was going through her cancer treatments, she would never give up.

She was always there for me and my sister, and she would do anything for us. We will never forget all the amazing memories we have with her. My grandmother was an amazing woman, and I will always love her.

My grandma is dear to me since she is kind, dependable, and affectionate. Granny’s commitment to being there for us when we need it has been demonstrated in a variety of ways. First, Granny will put off work for a long time if we are in need of watching over. My parents took an Alaskan cruise not long ago, and she looked after us for roughly a week.

This is a big deal because she has to drive an hour each day just to get to our house! Second, Granny always goes out of her way to get us what we need or want. If I needed a new pair of shoes for school and my parents said no, she would buy them for me. She has also given me many things that I cherish, like my great-grandmother’s china set. Finally, Granny is always there for us when we need her. When my sister was going through a tough time in middle school, she was there to talk to her every day.

My grandmother is one of the most important people in my life. She has shown me time and time again how much she loves me, and I know that I can always count on her.

Granny has also demonstrated her kindness by nearly always having a snack for my sister or me, even when we went out. We are frequently given the pleasure of raspberries from her garden, which I have discovered to be quite delicious. At an Ottawa-Glandorf soccer tournament, she gave us the gift of freshly squeezed lemonade from her home in Granny’s Garden Retirement Home.

We had just won our game and were rewarded with a celebratory dinner at McDonalds. While we were waiting for our food, my Grandfather went to the washroom and my Granny passed me a $20 bill, which I quickly stuffed into my sock so that my sister would not see. My sister ended up finding out about the money, because she is very good at snooping through people’s belongings, but I was still able to get away with spending $10 of it on an ice cream cone.

My Granny has always been supportive, whether it be coming to watch me play sports or offering helpful advice. She has never been one to shy away from giving her opinion, even if you do not want to hear it. This can be frustrating at times, but I know that it is coming from a place of love and concern. She has always been there for me and I am so grateful for that.

Granny, thank you for being the amazing woman that you are. You have touched so many lives in such a positive way and I know that you will continue to do so. I love you very much and I hope that you know how much you mean to me.

First and foremost, she is able to find a fantastic present for every occasion. Even if it’s just a bag of bacon jerky or some sweets from time to time, it’s cherished. She also puts our needs before her own on a regular basis. If Granny is watching over my sister and I, she always asks what we want to do first before anything else.

And if we are feeling upset, she always has a way to make us feel better with her words of wisdom or gentle hugs. Lastly, she is always willing to have long conversations, whether they be about the past, the present, or anything else under the sun. She loves learning new things and hearing about other people’s lives.

Granny is an amazing woman and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. I know that she has touched so many people in her own unique way and I am sure that she will continue to do so for many years to come. Thank you, Granny, for everything. We love you very much!
