Marita’s Bargain


When Marita graduated from high school, she had a tough decision to make. She could either go to college or get a job. After much deliberation, she decided to take a chance and bargain with her parents.

If she agreed to go to college and get good grades, her parents would pay for her tuition. If she didn’t agree to go to college, she would have to pay for her own tuition.

Marita was worried that she wouldn’t be able to succeed in college, but she knew that it was an opportunity that she couldn’t pass up. She made the bargain and started attending classes.

Fortunately, Marita did extremely well in college and received her degree in just three years. Her parents were very proud of her and her achievement.

Marita’s bargain was a success because she took the opportunity to get an education and better herself. She is now living proof that college is worth it and that it can pay off in the long run.

Most individuals are prepared to do almost anything to be successful. Both Annie(A Walk to the Jetty) and Marita(Marita’s Bargain) demonstrate this by giving up nearly everything they have to improve their chances of success. One of them is running away in search of a better life, while the other is working hard to improve her present circumstances. In Marita’s tale, she gains access to KIPP Academy as a result of her efforts.

This school is known for taking in students that other schools have given up on and giving them the education they need to succeed. The only catch is that she has to give up her weekends and holidays, which means she won’t be able to see her family as often. Even though it’s a tough decision, Marita knows that it’s the best thing for her future and she takes the bargain.

In Annie’s story, she is faced with the decision of whether or not to go with her mother when she moves away. Annie knows that if she goes, she’ll have to leave her friends and father behind. However, if she stays, she might not get the same opportunities as her mother. Annie decides to go with her mother, in hopes of getting a better education and a better life. Both girls are willing to make sacrifices in order to achieve success.

While some people are willing to do anything to be successful, others believe that success is something that you have to work for. In the story “Marita’s Bargain”, Marita is given the opportunity to attend KIPP Academy, but she has to give up her weekends and holidays to do so. Even though it’s a tough decision, Marita knows that it’s the best thing for her future and she takes the bargain. This shows that success is not always easy to come by and sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order to achieve it.

In the story “Annie’s Walk to the Jetty”, Annie is faced with the decision of whether or not to go with her mother when she moves away. Annie knows that if she goes, she’ll have to leave her friends and father behind. However, if she stays, she might not get the same opportunities as her mother. Annie decides to go with her mother, in hopes of getting a better education and a better life. This shows that sometimes you have to give up something in order to gain something else.

KIPP Academy is a public middle school in New York City that serves low-income youths. The majority of the students here are from single-parent families who receive government assistance for lunch. To succeed, the school emphasizes organization and respect. Marita began attending KIPP when she was twelve years old. Every morning at five forty-five, she gets up and goes to school. She works at Subway after school. Her alarm clock goes off at five forty-five the next morning, and the cycle begins again.).

Marita is now a senior in high school and has been accepted to college. She plans on studying business so that she can one day open her own restaurant. KIPP has instilled in her the importance of hard work and dedication. Because of the education and opportunities that KIPP has provided her, Marita feels confident that she will be successful in whatever she decides to do.

Annie John takes a different approach to achieve her objective. Her strategy is to leave everything she knows behind and start a new life in England. She describes how much she loved her existence as a youngster in the narrative. Her mother and father were always there to assist her, and they would go through anything to make her happy.

Annie also had a lot of friends. But as she got older, things changed. Annie’s mother became very ill and her father started drinking. Annie’s friends started to drift away from her. Annie felt like she was all alone in the world.

That is until she met Marita. Marita was a student at the same high school as Annie. She was different than anyone else that Annie had ever met. Marita came from a wealthy family and always had the latest clothes and gadgets. But what Annie liked most about Marita was that she was always willing to help her out, no matter what the problem was.

When it came time to go to college, Marita offered to pay for Annie’s tuition. All she had to do was work for Marita’s family during the summers. Annie agreed and everything seemed to be going well.

But then Annie started to realize that Marita was using her. Marita would have her do all sorts of chores, even personal ones like getting her coffee or walking her dog. And the pay was terrible. Annie was only making a fraction of what she could have made if she had gotten a job on her own.

Eventually, Annie had enough. She confronted Marita about the situation and told her that she was quitting. Marita didn’t take it well. She threatened to tell Annie’s father about the deal they had made and ruin his reputation. But Annie stood up to her and told her that she was done being used.

This story is a great example of how to stand up for yourself and not let anyone take advantage of you. Annie could have just accepted Marita’s offer and continued to be used. But she decided to stand up for herself and get out of the situation. This took a lot of courage, but it was the best decision she could have made.
